At the Annual Meeting we will have a brief introduction to the proposed amendments to the Constitution and the Bylaws of the Congregation but will not be voting on them at this time. Some of the changes are updates mandated from the last several Churchwide Assemblies. These are updates to keep our constitution and bylaws current with the Synodical and Churchwide Constitutions of the ELCA. The other changes are simply amending the 2016 model constitution and our existing bylaws to our current practices of electing officers, the board structure, and other policies peculiar to our congregation. The Council will schedule a special meeting of the congregation to vote on the proposed bylaws and first reading of the proposed amendments to the constitution in the Spring. A second reading and vote to ratify will be required for the constitution, either at another special meeting of the congregation or at next year’s annual meeting.
