Class of...
Our "Class of" small groups begin with the 6th grade milestone, as youth are entering Middle School and a new stage of life. The groups are designed to have activities that build relationships and faith of the youth AND parents. Each group is led by one or two volunteers, usually parents. Contact the group leader for more information:
Class of 2012 Lori Bjorklund at 696-0750
Class of 2012 is a small group the began in May 2006 as a support group for parents who had children entering Middle School. As the children progressed through middle & high school, parents and teenagers met faithfully over the past 6 years. Now that our Class of 2012 young adults have graduated, the parents will continue to meet once every 2 months to offer support and prayers for our kids in college and for ourselves as parents of college students or new "empty nesters."
Class of 2014 Kelly Steffensen at 692-7320
Class of 2016 Lori Munsterman at 697-8018 or Amy Pedersen at 691-3005
Class of 2017 Lisa Otterson at 692-2556 or Joan Riessen at 692-8833
A note from the leaders: The Class of 2017 small group is composed of the students who will graduate from high school in 2017 and their family members. The main goal of the group is to be a caring community. We support one another through listening, sharing, praying, and being present to one another. We incorporate the Four Keys of caring conversation, devotions, service, and rituals/traditions in our time together.
We meet approximately once a month during the school year. Our activities have included picnics, swimming, Halloween parties, pizza parties, assisting with Feeding Brookings, wine and cheese social for parents, making Christmas ornaments for the guests of Feeding Brookings, helping with the Maundy Thursday service, and playing board games. We always welcome new members to our group.
